Discover the World of Ceremonial Cacao

Ceremonial cacao is more than a drink, it’s a tradition rooted in community, wellbeing, and connection. At Nature’s Joint, we source pure cacao directly from its origins and guide you on how to prepare, enjoy, and deepen your experience.

What is Ceremonial Cacao?

Ceremonial cacao is cacao in its purest form is stone-ground and minimally processed to preserve its natural compounds. Unlike ordinary cocoa powder, it’s rich, bitter, and powerful. Traditionally used in ceremonies for connection and intention-setting, today it’s also enjoyed for focus, mindfulness, and everyday wellbeing.

How to Prepare

1. Measure your cacao

  • For daily enjoyment: 20–25g

  • For ceremonial use: 35–40g

(Adjust to taste, start smaller if you’re new.)

2. Chop or grate

Break your cacao block or granules into small pieces so they melt evenly.

3. Heat your liquid

Warm 150–200ml of water (or plant milk) until hot but not boiling this protects the cacao’s natural compounds.

4. Blend until smooth

Whisk by hand, use a blender, or a traditional molinillo until it’s silky and slightly frothy.

5. Add your touch (optional)

  • Spices like cinnamon, cardamom, or cayenne

  • A little natural sweetener (honey, date paste, agave) if you prefer softer bitterness

6. Sip with intention

Take a quiet moment, set your intention, and enjoy the grounding, heart-opening energy of cacao.
