Traditional Hand-carved Molinillo
Hand-Carved Mexican Molinillo
Crafted by artisan Esteban Alonso in Mexico, each molinillo is individually hand-carved using traditional woodworking techniques that have been passed down through generations.
A molinillo is a traditional wooden whisk designed to create a rich, velvety foam when preparing ceremonial cacao, Mexican hot chocolate, atole and other warm beverages. Simply place the molinillo into your cup or jug and roll the handle between your palms to naturally froth and blend your drink—no electricity required. The rotating carved rings help introduce air into the cacao, creating the smooth, creamy texture that has been enjoyed for centuries.
Beyond its practical use, every molinillo is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The intricate carvings make it equally at home displayed in your kitchen, cacao space or ceremony room, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Mexico.
Because every piece is handmade, no two molinillos are exactly alike. Small variations in shape, carving and grain are part of what makes each one unique.
