The inspiration behind: Cultured Colombia pouch art.

in a recent collaboration with the talented artist Dave Plant, also known as D'visionart, we embarked on a journey to capture the rich and captivating stories behind the locations where we source our ceremonial cacao. Through his vibrant and intricate designs, Dave has brought to life the essence of Putumayo, Colombia, a region that is much more than just a source of cacao—it's a land steeped in history, culture, and natural beauty.

Putumayo: The Pearl of the Amazon

Nestled in the foothills of the Amazon, Putumayo is often referred to as the "Pearl of the Amazon." This region is a breathtaking blend of dense jungles, towering giant trees, and lush mangroves. The area is teeming with wildlife, from majestic jaguars to a variety of exotic birds, and is home to stunning waterfalls that cascade through the dense greenery. It is a land that feels alive with the rhythms of nature—a perfect, untouched paradise that holds deep ancestral significance.

Ancestral Lands of the Kofan, Inga, and Siona Tribes

The cacao we source from Putumayo is grown on ancestral lands belonging to the Kofan, Inga, and Siona tribes. These tribes have lived in harmony with the land for generations, preserving traditional practices and deep spiritual connections to their environment. Cacao has always been a part of their cultural heritage, revered not just as a crop but as a sacred plant that embodies the spirit of the land.

Capturing the Essence of Putumayo in Art

When conceptualizing the art for our Cultured Colombian pouch, we knew we wanted to capture the profound beauty and cultural richness of Putumayo. The artwork, crafted by D'visionart, features elements that symbolize the region's vibrant ecosystem and the deep connection the indigenous tribes have with their land. The design includes motifs of the towering trees, the lush mangroves, and the powerful jaguars that roam this paradise. At the heart of the design is the face mask, a tribute to the tribal heritage of the Kofan, Inga, and Siona peoples—a visual representation of their enduring legacy and the sacred land they protect.

Bringing Stories to Life

Each pouch of our Cultured Colombian ceremonial cacao is not just a product; it is a vessel of stories, a tribute to the land and the people who have nurtured it for centuries. By choosing this cacao, you are not just enjoying a rich and authentic ceremonial experience—you are also connecting with the heart of Putumayo, honoring the traditions of the tribes, and supporting sustainable practices that respect the earth.

Through this collaboration, we aim to go beyond the surface and bring the amazing backstory of each location to life. Our goal is to foster a deeper appreciation for the origins of our cacao and the incredible journey it takes from the jungles of Colombia to your cup.
